Uzbekistan ambassador: I have made many friends in Belarus

MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) - Friendly relations between Belarus and Uzbekistan are developing both at the level of presidents and between people, outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Nasirdjan Yusupov told the media after a meeting with Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko, BelTA has learned.

He shared his impressions about the meeting with the head of state: "The meeting was wonderful. This is the third time I have met with the president in his office. Today's meeting is connected with the end of my tenure in Belarus and my return to my homeland. Aleksandr Grigoryevich is a very interesting interlocutor, it is very interesting to talk to him. It was a frank conversation, including about all the events that the country is going through, about the plans that the country is currently working on. It was very interesting for me as the ambassador of Uzbekistan, a country friendly to Belarus."

According to him, friendly relations between the leaders of the two states help solve many issues that exist in the relations between the countries.

"Time is fleeting, and three years of work here have flown by unnoticed. On the one hand, I have made many good friends here, got to know the country," the ambassador said. "We have managed to do a lot in terms of the development of relations between Belarus and Uzbekistan, in terms of helping Belarusians to learn more about Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan citizens more about Belarus."

Bilateral relations is not only about indicators and figures, the diplomat said. "But these figures illustrating our cooperation will be growing in the future, I am sure," Ambassador Nasirdjan Yusupov said.
