Sultan of Oman sees untapped potential in relations with Belarus

MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) - Oman and Belarus have made significant progress, yet there is still untapped potential for further development in bilateral relations, Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman said during the one-on-one meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 6 October, BelTA has learned.

The Sultan thanked the Belarusian leader for the warm welcome and emphasized that he is happy to be in Minsk. Sultan Haitham noted that he would like to study how the agreements reached during Aleksandr Lukashenko’s visit to Oman last year are being implemented.
“Since your visit to Oman last year, we have made significant progress. At the same time, there is still untapped potential. With your support and through cooperation between our governments, we will be able to realize it,” the Sultan said.
During the negotiations the two leaders are expected to discuss progress in implementing the agreements reached during the Belarusian president’s visit to Oman in December 2024. They will discuss promising avenues and ways to step up cooperation in various spheres. The advancement of trade and economic cooperation will be in focus. A number of international documents are expected to be signed as a result of the negotiations.
