
DUSHANBE, 10 October (BelTA) – The CIS summit in Dushanbe has brought together friends and partners united by common interests and a desire to develop cooperation, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan said as he opened a narrow-format meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council, BelTA reports.
“We are always happy to welcome friends and partners who share our interests and aspirations for promoting cooperation,” he said at the opening of the event, wishing all participants productive discussions and constructive decisions.

Emomali Rahmon noted that during Tajikistan’s chairmanship of the CIS, the country, in close cooperation with member states and the CIS Executive Committee, has continued comprehensive work to effectively implement the agreed goals. Dozens of events of various levels and formats have been held. Priority attention has been given to improving the organization’s activities. Work has continued on expanding trade and economic cooperation, developing transport and logistics connectivity, and advancing digital integration. Security issues have remained in focus, the humanitarian dimension has also been actively promoted.
Following the opening remarks by the president of Tajikistan, the heads of state continued their work in a narrow format without media representatives present.
The summit agenda also includes a plenary session in an expanded format and the signing of a package of final documents.
