MINSK, 1 July (BelTA) – Sincere, respectful dialogue without imposition or threats will always find support and development in Belarus, Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs of the House of Representatives Sergei Rachkov said during a meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s General Committee on Political Affairs and Security held on the sidelines of the 32nd Annual Session of the OSCE PA in Porto, Portugal, BelTA has learned.
“The Belarusian delegation expresses serious concern that certain countries continue to use the OSCE platform for their narrow political purposes. Instead of engaging in sincere dialogue and seeking compromise, they use aggressive rhetoric and manipulation under the guise of human rights agendas. Instead of working toward restoring trust and strengthening security across the OSCE area, some states continue to follow a destructive path of confrontation, deepening division and undermining the remnants of pan-European stability,” Sergei Rachkov stressed.
Belarus is a sovereign state open to constructive dialogue, including on issues of human rights and democracy, the parliamentarian emphasized. “We are convinced that only equal communication, rather than ultimatums and propaganda, can help overcome disagreements,” he said.
“Belarus is interested in stable and evolutionary development without upheaval, violence, or external interference. We strongly urge our Western colleagues to stop speculating, abandon the practice of applying double standards and hypocrisy when interpreting domestic processes in sovereign states. Any attempts to exert pressure will be met by Minsk with a firm and systemic response,” Sergei Rachkov added. “Sincere, respectful dialogue without imposition or threats will always find support and development in Belarus.”
