MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – At the “Parties and a New Society” seminar in Mexico City, Belarusian MP Sergei Klishevich met with Latin American parliamentarians to discuss cooperative efforts, the press service of the House of Representatives told BelTA.

Sergei Klishevich held meetings with Tania Valentina Díaz, a member of the National Assembly of Venezuela and vice-chair of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, and Alirio Uribe Muñoz, a member of the House of Representatives of Colombia. The discussions centered on mutual information support in the context of the ongoing information warfare confronting their nations.

The Colombian MP emphasized the key role of Belarus and its president’s initiatives in resolving the Ukrainian conflict, expressing his readiness to personally promote these peace initiatives in Latin America. “Our imperative is to ensure the peaceful resolution of all 59 armed conflicts raging across the globe. We stand in full solidarity with you and declare Latin America’s unwavering advocacy for world peace,” stated Alirio Uribe Muñoz.

The Venezuelan representative highlighted the friendly relations between her country and Belarus: “Forged by Supreme Commander Hugo Chávez and President Lukashenko, these relations continue to unite our peoples, transcending all circumstances and internal difficulties. We remain bound by a common goal: to build a multipolar world founded on respect for nations, the rule of law, mutual solidarity, and a shared ideal of peace – one that guides humanity toward a more humane future.” Tania Valentina Díaz added that the Belarusian people can always count on the fraternal support of Venezuela.
