MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – The constitutional referendum is an evolutionary way to develop Belarus' political system, member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Oleg Gaidukevich told BelTA.
“The upcoming constitutional referendum is a number one political event in the country. On 20 October the Supreme Council and the Central Committee of the Liberal Democratic Party gathered for a meeting that was also attended by heads of the party's regional offices. The party members took a decision to take an active part in the upcoming referendum. We will take part in the formation of relevant commissions and public outreach events. We are convinced that the referendum is an evolutionary path of development of the political system of Belarus, there is no alternative to it,” the MP noted.
According to Oleg Gaidukevich, the party decided to hold a Forum of Patriotic Forces in support of the upcoming referendum. “We will show that the Belarusian people are united in their commitment to peaceful and evolutionary development. The Forum of Patriotic Forces will be held in January 2022 and bring together more than 1,000 delegates from all over the country. It will be hosted either by the Palace of the Republic or the President Hotel,” he said the parliamentarian.
