MINSK, 2 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Pavlyuchenko commented on the meaning and significance of 2026, declared the Year of the Belarusian Woman, BelTA has learned.

The president signed a decree declaring 2026 the Year of the Belarusian Woman. Natalia Pavlyuchenko emphasized that this decision reflects profound significance and respect for the role women play in the life of the country.

“The Belarusian woman is, first and foremost, a hard worker. She doesn’t wait for perfect circumstances but gets things done: caring, solving, supporting, creating, and raising children. It is within the family, through mothers, that the cornerstone of the future is set: a strong, kind, and diligent generation to build Belarus’ tomorrow. As the head of state aptly said in his New Year’s address: ‘True love is impossible without love for a woman!’ And you can sense this everywhere: from the warmth of a household to the spirit within any community,” the head of the ministry stressed.

This year holds special significance for social welfare. “Our focus now is on family, work, and care. Social welfare is, fundamentally, women’s work expanded to a national level. The majority of workers are women. Their job extends their innate role: supporting the weak, aiding those in need, and uplifting people facing hardship,” Natalia Pavlyuchenko concluded.
