MINSK, 30 September (BelTA) – Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, is expected to come to Belarus at the end of the week, Founder and Director of the Council for International Relations Minsk Dialogue Yauheni Preiherman told a press conference in Minsk on 30 September, BelTA has learned.
When asked by reporters, why Federica Mogherini is not among the participants of the forthcoming Minsk Dialogue Forum: European Security: Stepping Back from the Brink to be held on 7-8 October, Yauheni Preiherman answered that due to a busy schedule the only time when Federica Mogherini will be able to come to Belarus is several days before the forum. Therefore, the high-level visit will take place this Friday or Saturday and will focus on the Eastern Partnership agenda. The EU delegation will be led by Federica Mogherini. “We wanted to co-locate these events, but the schedule did not allow to,” Yauheni Preiherman said.
A reminder, the high-level event of the Eastern Partnership initiative is to be held in Minsk on 4-5 October.
