MINSK, 25 November (BelTA) - The information war against Belarus and Russia is taking increasingly brazen forms, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov told the media following a joint meeting of the collegiums of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia in Moscow on 25 November, BelTA has learned.
“The issue of information support for foreign policy is now of vital, critical importance,” Maxim Ryzhenkov stated. “The information war against our countries is not abating. It is taking on increasingly brazen and sophisticated forms. We are simply obliged to convey objectively and convincingly to our own people, and even more so to the populations of the rest of the world, information about our genuine values, our coordinated and firm position on the international stage, and our shared vision of a just world order.”
At the invitation of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov paid a working visit to Moscow on 24-25 November to participate in the annual joint meeting of the collegiums of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia. These joint meetings have been held annually since 2000, alternating between Belarus and Russia, and serve as an effective mechanism for synchronizing the two countries’ efforts on the international stage. The parties took stock of the interim results of implementing the decisions of the previous meeting and the program of concerted actions in foreign policy of the states party to the Union State Treaty for 2024-2026.
