
MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov and Botswana’s Minister of International Relations Phenyo Butale discussed the details of the first visit of the president of Botswana to Belarus in New York, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
During the talks, the diplomats discussed the implementation of the agreements reached in Minsk in July 2025 and the preparation of the first-ever official visit of the president of Botswana to Belarus.

“The parties considered the possibility of setting up a joint committee on economic cooperation with working groups on trade, agriculture, and industry, and the development of interaction between the national economic agencies and business communities of the two countries. They also focused on the prospects of strengthening partnership in agriculture, food security, mining industry, education, and technical support,” the press service said.
The parties also discussed cooperation on the international arena, including the enhancement of interaction in the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement, countering unilateral restrictive measures, and joint initiatives to protect the rights of landlocked countries and combat human trafficking.
