Belarusian ambassador presents credentials to Turkish president

MINSK, 11 December (BelTA) - Belarusian Ambassador to Turkey Viktor Rybak presented his credentials to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

The central topic of the conversation was the implementation of the Belarusian-Turkish agreements reached during the official visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Ankara in April 2019.

The parties confirmed the high level of bilateral political relations and mutual understanding between the leaders of the two states. The parties highlighted the importance of further increasing mutual trade and the need for concrete practical steps to balance the bilateral trade. In this regard, promising projects of trade, economic and investment cooperation were considered.

In conclusion, the Turkish president was informed about the upcoming visit of the head of the National Library of Belarus to Ankara to give rare editions of Belarusian books to the Presidential Library of Turkey within the framework of the Belarus Today project.

The Belarusian ambassador also took part in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk in Ankara. The head of the Belarusian diplomatic mission left a note in the Book of Distinguished Guests of the Ataturk Mausoleum, and also visited the Ataturk Museum and the War of Independence Museum.
