MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov held a meeting with UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus Rasul Bagirov and heads of UN system agencies represented in our country, BelTA has learned.
The parties discussed promising areas of cooperation between Belarus and the United Nations within the framework of implementing long-term national priorities, emphasizing the alignment of the Cooperation Framework with Belarus’ national strategies and plans for socioeconomic development.


According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties also exchanged views on the organization’s work amid contemporary global challenges and touched upon the implementation of UN project activities in Belarus, noting their contribution to the country’s sustainable development. In this context, the Belarusian minister of foreign affairs emphasized the importance of implementing practice-oriented projects and expressed readiness for further expanding cooperation in this area.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed mutual interest in deepening the Belarus-UN partnership and continuing joint efforts in the interests of the sustainable development of our country.

A plan of joint activities for 2026 to implement the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for Belarus for 2026-2030 was signed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The plan was developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs jointly with the UN Country Team and includes events to be held in the country in 2026 dedicated to landmark events at the national level and international days. The plan includes events dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman, Chernobyl-related issues, and matters of peace and development, including in the context of drafting the Eurasian Charter for Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century. It also includes traditional events marking the organization’s important historical milestones - the start of the San Francisco Conference (25 April), the signing of the UN Charter (26 June), and United Nations Day (24 October).
