MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the United Arab Emirates Igor Bely met with Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council Saqr Ghobash on 20 January, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for developing interparliamentary cooperation, including exchanges of visits. They emphasized the need for more active and substantive engagement through parliamentary friendship groups.
The ambassador informed the speaker about the ratification of bilateral agreements in Belarus to deepen cooperation in trade and investment and create favorable conditions to develop business ties between the two states.
Saqr Ghobash assured that all necessary procedures for these agreements to enter into force will be completed in the near future.
Special attention was also given to cooperation in culture. The parties stressed the importance of cultural exchanges as an effective tool for strengthening mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries and expressed interest in implementing joint projects.
