Belarus to work out more active strategy to promote interests in Asia

MINSK, 12 July (BelTA) – Belarus is going to work out a more active strategy to promote interests in Asia, BelTA learned from an interview of Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei with the TV channel RT.

Vladimir Makei said: “We are now working on working out a new, more active strategy for promoting our interests with Asian countries.”

The official noted that Belarus is interested in having a balanced policy with the countries that would like to see it as a partner. “Ultimately I am talking about the multiple-vector principle. I believe we should not reject it. At the same time we understand that the length and directions of the vectors can vary. There are directions where we just have to have tighter integration contacts, links in all spheres and areas,” he stressed.
