Belarus, Tajikistan gearing up for session of intergovernmental commission in Dushanbe

MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – Belarus' Ambassador to Tajikistan Oleg Ivanov met with Tajikistan's Minister of Agriculture Ziyozoda Sulaymon Rizoi on 22 January, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Tajikistan.

Ziyozoda Sulaymon Rizoi is the chairman of the Tajik part of the Belarusian-Tajik intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation. “The parties discussed preparations for the next session of the intergovernmental commission in Dushanbe and organization of bilateral activities,” the embassy said.

Belarus and Tajikistan established diplomatic relations on 5 September 1996. The Embassy of Tajikistan in Minsk opened in 1997, and the Belarusian Embassy in Dushanbe – in 2011. Belarus and Tajikistan maintain an active political dialogue and effectively cooperate within international organizations.
