MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lukashevich met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus Alireza Sanei in Minsk on 2 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the situation in the Middle East. The first deputy minister expressed sorrow over the numerous civilian casualties and conveyed condolences from the Belarusian head of state Aleksandr Lukashenko in connection with the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
“The parties confirmed their grave concern over the developments unfolding across the Middle East. The Belarusian side believes that all conflicts must be resolved solely through political and diplomatic means, as there is no viable alternative,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized.
