Members of the Gomel Hardening and Winter Swimming Sports Club are in active training for the CIS Cup, which is due to take place in Polotsk in late January. Male competitors will swim 100 meters breaststroke, while women will cover 50 meters. The Gomel winter swimming enthusiasts club was established in 1962 and has since trained up to 200 cold-water swimmers. Today, the club boasts over 30 members who practice barefoot runs in the snow followed by icy swims.
