MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) – The number of concurrent viewers, who watched a stream of Belarus' national pavilion on the Chinese online platform Douyin, went past 100,000, BelTA learned from First Deputy Director General of SZAO Industrial Park Development Company Kirill Koroteyev.
SZAO Industrial Park Development Company will organize the opening of Belarus' national digital pavilion on the Chinese online platforms Jingdong and Douyin on 6 July. The project is designed to promote Belarusian goods in China and is operating in test mode.
Kirill Koroteyev said: “A stream was arranged on the Douyin platform today with participation of the Belarusian embassy in China. Over the course of 2.5 hours the number of subscribers of the national pavilion went from 70,000 to 193,000. The number of views during the stream reached 1.32 million. Sales amounted to ¥900,000, which is $134,511 according to the exchange rate of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus.”
In his words, the digital pavilion features food products made by Kommunarka, Spartak, Vitba, and Belprodukt. Plans have been made to substantially increase the list of Belarusian products.
The China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone is a special economic zone with a special legal regime. It is located 25km away from Minsk. The park's priority development areas include mechanical engineering, electronics and telecommunications, biotechnologies, pharmaceutics, new materials, logistics, digital commerce, big data storage and processing.
