Minister: Strong growth in order intake for Belarusian microelectronics from Russia

MINSK, 14 June (BelTA - Russia is ready to place orders for microelectronics with Belarusian enterprises in order to replace supplies from unfriendly countries, Belarusian Industry Minister Piotr Parkhomchik told the meeting after a government conference on the development of the microelectronics industry in Belarus, BelTA has learned.

According to the minister, the president is generally satisfied with the microelectronics development efforts by the ministry and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) but still urged to move forward faster, to switch to a higher technological level. Moreover, the situation is very favorable now. Everything that is produced by microelectronics enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry is in demand in the Russian market.

Domestic producers operate at 100% capacity and show very good indicators. For example, this year Integral is set to export $115 million worth of products, which is up by 30% year-on-year.

“Russia is ready to place orders with Planar, Integral and NASB enterprises to produce the things it used to purchase from unfriendly countries,” Piotr Parkhomchik said. According to him, Planar's order intake for R&D from Russia is very strong.

"The Russian Federation has asked to reduce the terms of these experimental design works as much as possible. Today we have found an opportunity to complete these tasks within 1-1.5 years. We see that the number of orders will be growing. We have a unique opportunity in terms of production and also in terms of research and design," the minister emphasized.
