KLIMOVICHI, 23 January (BelTA) - Livestock farming is one of the key development avenues for Klimovichi District, Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi said during a working trip to Klimovichi District, BelTA has learned.
“Livestock farming is one of the key development areas for this district. A comprehensive program was prepared for each livestock facility and enterprise. And literally within a year, we have seen significant results in terms of efficiency growth. In fact, if we take the criteria for milk yield, it has increased 1.7 times in one year,” he noted.
If the district continues working tasks at this pace then literally within two years, the district could reach the average level for Mogilev Oblast, Dmitry Krutoi said. This is a significant achievement of the district executive committee and the team overseeing this program.
Today, Dmitry Krutoi inspected a number of agricultural facilities in the district. These included the pig fattening farm under construction at the Klim-Agro branch of the Klimovichi Grain Processing Plant, the machinery yard of Timonovo Breeding Farm and the dairy farm of the agricultural enterprise. Machinery repair and maintenance ahead of the spring field work and cattle maintenance are topics under close scrutiny.
After visiting a number of facilities, a meeting was held at the Klimovichi District Executive Committee to discuss the performance of the livestock farming sector and of the agro agricultural industry in the past year and to identify promising avenues for the development of this industry.

“We hold such meetings every month to see the progress in the implementation of the tasks outlined by the president as part of what we call Vitebsk Protocol. After all, the first quarter will soon end. Additionally, there are ongoing traditional issues related to preparations for the spring field campaign. This includes the procurement of fertilizers and the status of the machinery fleet,” Dmitry Krutoi noted. “Today, we visited one of the machinery yards that, two years ago, was ranked last in a kind of internal ranking in Klimovichi District. Significant work has been done over the past year. In principle, I am satisfied with the condition I saw.”

“Within the region, livestock is being relocated to efficient facilities. We will continue this program this year. The president was briefed on the performance indicators of the complexes commissioned in 2024-2025. This has already reached the level of our national leaders, achieved within Mogilev Oblast,” Dmitry Krutoi said. “Therefore, this proves that these facilities represent the future of the agricultural industry of Mogilev Oblast. They ensure high efficiency, good wages, strong retention of specialists, and produce goods that not only enjoy high domestic demand today but also have good export potential.”

There is also a positive effect from assigning supervising entities to agricultural organizations.“The system of corporate assistance, an important element of the agricultural industry, has proven its effectiveness in recent months. Even students from the Klimovichi Agricultural College are helping repair machinery while simultaneously studying, learning the specifics of our agricultural equipment and gaining hands-on experience. The scope of corporate assistance, which we agreed upon in November-December, is provided fully, sometimes even ahead of schedule. Therefore, I have no doubt regarding Klimovichi District that they will be fully prepared for the spring field work,” the head of the President Administration said.
In addition, Dmitry Krutoi reviewed the performance of the local processing enterprises. He noted that the One District, One Project initiative in Klimovichi District is intertwined with financial instruments and state support under the southeastern development program.
Large-scale investment projects, new products, and sales markets are the key focal points for the development of the local enterprises. These include the Klimovichi Grain Processing Plant and the distillery. Investment projects are being implemented at these enterprises, enabling them to launch new product lines and create new jobs, which contributes to the local economy.
