The government's work will focus on enabling favorable investment conditions, reducing investor risks, and improving the business environment, the official noted. Favorable business development terms will be made available not only in Minsk but in the regions as well.

The head of government also mentioned that a competition encouragement program would be adopted.

Roman Golovchenko drew attention to the problem of low innovation activity in the economy. “This is why in addition to improving the traditional economy we are going to persistently form the so-called new economy that will be based on intellectual products and services,” the prime minister promised. With this in mind the government intends to remodel the system of state support for innovations. In particular, financial assistance will be provided to projects designed to set up new breakthrough enterprises.

Within the next five years the Belarusian government intends to implement large-scale projects of the future in the sphere of electric transport, innovative healthcare, pharmaceutics, the introduction of smart cities and precision farming.

To raise the export of merchandise and services to $50 billion in 2025 is one of the goals.
