Belarus, Vietnam discuss cooperation in healthcare, agriculture

MINSK, 18 April (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Vladimir Borovikov has met with Vietnam's Vice Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Vietnam.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Belarusian universities and pharmaceutical companies that had come to Vietnam to take part in the international exhibition Vietnam Expo 2022. The parties discussed training of medical personnel, the use of Belarusian scientific developments in Vietnamese healthcare, expanding of the list of supplies of Belarusian medicines to Vietnam and ASEAN countries.

Tran Van Thuan praised Belarusian medical universities, as well as the quality and efficacy of medicines produced in Belarus.

Another meeting was held with Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Pham Ngoc Mau. During the talks, the parties confirmed their interest in expanding trade and economic ties in agriculture and increasing the supply of food products. They also discussed certification of Belarusian meat products on the Vietnamese market, joint projects, and a possibility for Belarusian companies to take part in state-run agricultural programs in Vietnam.

Representatives of the leading Belarusian dairy enterprises made brief presentations that were highly acclaimed by Vietnamese specialists.
