Belarus, Russia’s Vladimir Oblast to step up cooperation via commodity exchange

MINSK, 13 December (BelTA) – The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) and the Vladimir Oblast Export Support Center, Russia will cooperate in exchange trading, the BUCE press service told BelTA.

BUCE and the Vladimir Oblast Export Support Center intend to jointly involve regional enterprises in exchange trading by holding practical seminars, online conferences and workshops on exchange operations, as well as by providing consultations to businesses in Vladimir Oblast on accreditation, trading and procurement activities on the exchange platform.

This agreement was reached during a visit by a BUCE representative to the city of Suzdal as part of a delegation of Belarusian business circles.

According to Darya Grechukhina, Director of the Vladimir Oblast Export Support Center, in 2025 the center supported nearly 400 small and medium-sized enterprises interested in expanding business contacts and exploring new markets. Belarus is one of the region’s key trading and economic partners, as evidenced by the strong momentum in mutual trade and stable two-way commodity flows. In this regard, cooperation with BUCE is expected to become a useful addition to the tools already available to entrepreneurs in Vladimir Oblast, offering broader opportunities for both selling and purchasing goods in Belarus.

In addition to talks with the center’s leadership, the BUCE representative also took part in the 6th Vladimir Investment Congress, where a presentation of the exchange trading platform’s capabilities was delivered, followed by B2B meetings with local producers and foreign participants from Azerbaijan, Vietnam, India and Kazakhstan.

According to BUCE, in January-November 2025 companies from Vladimir Oblast conducted exchange transactions totaling $2.2 million. For comparison, over the same period in 2024, transactions between participants from Belarus and Vladimir Oblast amounted to $0.3 million. This year, dry milk, butter and lumber were supplied to Vladimir Oblast through BUCE, while Belarus imported ferrous metal products and electrical equipment.

As of 12 December, BUCE accredited 37 companies and individual entrepreneurs from Vladimir Oblast.
