Belarus, Russia plan to implement new cooperation projects

MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) - Belarus and Russia are planning to implement new cooperation projects, Belarusian Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov told the media, BelTA has learned.

"I have agreed with my colleague Maksim Gennadievich [Russian Minister of Economic Development Maksim Reshetnikov] that we will identify five to seven major projects that we can launch soon. The emphasis will be placed primarily on cooperation ties, on exports to third countries. This is an opportunity to attract investment, create new jobs, and ultimately ensure the well-being of our citizens," Aleksandr Chervyakov said.

According to him, the parties are exploring cooperation in various fields, including in agricultural industry, space. Import substitution is also important. "In the near future, we will outline those areas where we have points of contact, competencies, resources in order to quickly draw up a package of investment programs for their implementation in either our country or the Russian Federation with the involvement of private business," the minister said.
