MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – In January-February 2022 Belarus' export of merchandise and services increased by 19.5% year-on-year to $7.717 billion, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
In January-February 2022 Belarus' foreign trade totaled $14.709 billion, 20.6% up from the same period in 2021. Import amounted to $6.991 billion (21.7% up). Surplus of foreign trade in goods and services equaled $726.5 million, up from $712 million in January-February 2021.
Belarus' merchandise trade grew by 24.3% to $12.471 billion. Merchandise export went up by 23.1% to $6.225 billion, with merchandise import up by 25.5% to $6.246 billion. Deficit totaled $20.1 million. In January-February 2021 Belarus had a surplus of $81.9 million.
In January-February 2022 foreign trade in services reached $2.237 billion, 3.3% up year-on-year. Export of services amounted to $1.492 billion (6.8% up), with import at $745.4 million (2.9% down). Surplus of foreign trade in services equaled $746.6 million, up from $630.1 million in January-February 2021.
