DUSHANBE, 11 October (BelTA) - Belarus and Tajikistan need to advance the joint production of various types of equipment and vehicles, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to Belarus Mahmadsharif Haqdod told the media,BelTA has learned.
"We cooperate in all areas. A wide range of issues will be discussed in terms of economic cooperation within the framework of the visit [of the Belarusian president to Tajikistan]," Ambassador Mahmadsharif Haqdod said.
He noted that Belarusian agricultural machines are produced in Tajikistan. “We need to advance the industrial cooperation and expand the product line-up. Not only farm machines. We can assemble utilities and other vehicles. The prospects are very great,” the ambassador is convinced. “Of course, we need to tap markets of third countries. We have that experience. We supplied tractors assembled here to Afghanistan and to other neighboring countries."
Manufacture of Belarusian dairy products will soon be launched in Tajikistan. Plans are in place to open a joint venture for meat processing, said the head of the Tajikistan diplomatic mission.
Belarus and Tajikistan are set to sign a roadmap for the development of cooperation until 2026. According to the diplomat, it covers not only economic cooperation but also ties in culture, education, science and tourism.
"We need to build up the well-established cooperation. We need to advance these ties. Our relations are at such a stage now," Ambassador Mahmadsharif Haqdod summed up.
