11 November is the fourth day refugees have been stuck at the Belarusian-Polish border. Different estimates put the number of refugees in the camp at over 3,000 people. The number includes about 500 kids, some of them are babies. Near all the kids in the camp have caught cold, the nights are very cold.
The refugees hope they would be able to enter the European Union.
Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Belarus Mulusew Mamo was made familiar with the situation in the refugee camp at the Belarusian-Polish border. He said: “The situation is catastrophic. I think it will be even worse in a day. Something needs to be done. Humanitarian aid shipments will continue.”
