BREST, 9 August (BelTA) – The international hockey tournament Prometheus will take place in Brest on 13-15 August, BelTA learned from senior coach of the local club Stroitel Viktor Stasyuk.

The competitions make part of the sport calendar of the oblast center. This year Belarus' strongest clubs – Brest's Stroitel and Minsk will be joined by Russia's Dinamo-Elektrostal and Metrostroi from St Petersburg. The round-robin tournament will kick off with a game between the Russian teams.

The games will be played at the Stroitel Stadium.

“For Brest Stroitel the tournament will be a good opportunity to see young players. It will also make a good stage to prepare for the forthcoming season. Our rivals are strong: the Belarusian champion and representatives of the Super League,” Viktor Stasyuk said.

The Belarusian hockey clubs are completing their pre-season training. In late August they will compete for the Belarus Cup in Minsk. The season 2017/18 starts in early September. HC Minsk is the current champion of Belarus. Brest Stroitel won silver.
