Motor Sich to launch daily Zaporizhia-Minsk flight 19 December

MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – The Motor Sich Airline will launch the daily Zaporizhia-Minsk flight on 19 December, Motor Sich Director General Gennady Maslov told media on 30 November, BelTA informs.

“On 30 November the Ukrainian air company conducted its first flight from Zaporizhia to Minsk and back. This flight is great news. No one annulled brotherly ties and sibling connections between Belarus and Ukraine. I think this route will be in demand,” noted the Motor Sich Director General.

The aircraft AN-140 left Zaporizhia at 6h48 to land in Minsk at about 10 o'clock on 30 November. Before 19 December flights will be conducted four times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

According to Gennady Maslov, it took a month to work out the route. “Ten passengers were brought from Zaporizhia to Minsk on 10 November. A total of 21 people will go back to Zaporizhia. The flight will promote both tourism and business,” he said.

According to the airline, the Motor Sich Airline applied to the Ukrainian aviation service to get a permit on the operation of daily Kiev-Minsk flights.

Tickets can be bought via the Internet websites of the Motor Sich airline and Belavia, air ticket search engines, agencies selling air tickets in Ukraine, Russia and Belarus. “We have already concluded all necessary agreements to launch regular flights with Belavia. Apart from that, we are working on a code-share agreement which is to be signed before the mid December,” noted Gennady Maslov.

In his words, the Zaporizhia-Minsk flight will be popular with Ukrainians who travel to Russia and back. "The last flight to Moscow took place on 25 October 2015. We operated regular flights to the Russian capital for the last 18 years. The flight was closed due to the recent political situation,” the Director General said.

Founded in 1984, the Motor Sich Airline is a structural subdivision of the public joint stock company Motor Sich, one of the world's leading companies in the development, production and maintenance of aviation gas-turbine engines for airplanes and helicopters as well as industrial gas turbine installations. The airline operates nine aircraft. Zaporizhia International Airport is the basic airport of the Motor Sich airline. The air company performs regular flights from Zaporizhia to Kiev, from Kiev to Uzhgorod as well as charter flights around the world.
