Minsk hosts delegation from Tashkent 


MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) - A delegation led by deputy hokim (mayor) of Tashkent city, head of the Housing and Public Utilities Directorate of Tashkent  Shokhrukh Rakhimdjanov is visiting Minsk on 15-19 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

Representatives of the Uzbek capital are set to study the experience of Minsk in urban planning, utilities and digitalization, and to establish trade relations.. The guests are scheduled to meet with senior officials of the Minsk City Executive Committee, to tour the enterprises of the Belarusian capital, and see city parks, recreation areas, etc.

In 2019 Minsk and Tashkent signed the first agreement on cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology and culture. The visit is timed to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the agreement. 

In 2019, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Tourism Department of the city of Tashkent and the Sport and Tourism Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee. The relations between Minsk and Tashkent received a new impetus with a twinning agreement signed by the capitals  in February 2024 and an action plan to cooperation in trade, economy, science, technology and culture for 2024-2025.
