Baskov: Alley of Glory in Raubichi will remind young athletes of Belarusian sport traditions

MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) – Member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assmebly of Belarus Dmitry Baskov extended greetings as the Raubichi Winter Sports Center marked its 50th anniversary, BelTA has learned.

Representatives of the sports community led by NOC President Viktor Lukashenko and Sports and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk took part in the planting of an Alley of Glory in Raubichi and inaugurating a memorial stone to mark the 50th anniversary of the sports center.




“I think it will not be an exaggeration to say that Raubichi is the cradle of Belarusian sport. The center secures excellent conditions for training and development of highly qualified athletes in various disciplines. Both domestic and foreign teams choose our center as a place for their training camps. Raubichi has trained a lot of world-renowned athletes, and all this is a credit to  the true specialists working here within a span of the past 50 years,” Dmitry Baskov said. “It is very important that both the president and the sports leadership of the country understand the importance of this facility. New locations and infrastructure are built here on a regular basis. I am sure that outstanding results of our athleres will be a return on state investment. I would like to wish Raubichi further development and prosperity. Let the Alley of Glory remind future Belarusian athletes of the traditions of our sport.”
