Ukraine may open checkpoints to vehicles from Lugansk

MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – Ukraine will consider the possibility of opening the checkpoints to vehicles from Lugansk, OSCE special representative in the trilateral contact group on Ukraine Martin Sajdik said on 13 January, BelTA has learned.

“The Ukrainian side said it will consider the possibility of opening the checkpoints to civil transport and vehicles with humanitarian aid from Lugansk. I think this is a positive development in the talks,” Martin Sajdik noted.

In his words, the working group on humanitarian affairs discussed ways to improve conditions for civilians at the checkpoints on the contact line in view of cold winter weather.

The working group on political affairs continued discussing matters of amnesty and elections.
