MINSK, 3 August (BelTA) – Destruction of the drones of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) should not happen again and should not be left unpunished, OSCE special representative in the trilateral contact group on Ukraine, Ambassador Martin Sajdik told media in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
“Such actions must stop and should not be left unpunished,” Ambassador Martin Sajdik noted.
He also informed that at the session of the working group on security affairs OSCE SMM Chief Monitor Ertugrul Apakan drew attention to the need to urgently address three issues. The first one is ensuring full and sustainable ceasefire. The second one is reaching a framework agreement and starting the process of withdrawal of forces on two sites in the conflict zone, including demining. The third one is full compliance with the agreements on the withdrawal of heavy weaponry.
In addition, Ambassador Ertugrul Apakan highlighted that the parties bear responsibility for the safety of the SMM.
