EaP Ambassadors discuss regional security in Copenhagen

MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – Belarus' Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to the Republic of Finland and concurrently to the Kingdom of Denmark Alexander Ostrovsky and the Ambassadors of the Eastern Partnership countries discussed the regional stability in Copenhagen during the Ambassador's working visit to Denmark on 10-13 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

The Belarusian Ambassador attended a meeting of the ambassadors of the states-parties to the Eastern Partnership accredited in Copenhagen (Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, and Ukraine) to exchange views on the issue of regional stability and cooperation.

When visiting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark the Ambassador met with the State Secretary for International Affairs, deputy state secretary for international cooperation with Europe and North America and the European neighborhood policy, the directors of the European neighborhood policy and economic cooperation departments. "The parties discussed the entire range of the bilateral Belarusian-Danish relations, including political and economic aspects and Denmark's assistance to Belarus with the implementation of a number of international technical assistance projects. The parties outlined their positions on cooperation with the EU and the Eastern partnership, and identified the steps for the future,” informed the press service.

During the trip, Ambassador Alexander Ostrovsky also met with the officials of the Credit Export Agency, the Investment Fund and the Confederation of Industrialists of Denmark, the Danish-Belarusian business association, and also with representatives of a number of Danish companies working in Belarus. During the meetings the parties discussed the ways of intensifying the mutually beneficial cooperation, raising Danish investments and loans to Belarus.
