Contact group on Ukraine to reconvene in Minsk on 26 April

MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – The next session of the contact group on resolving the situation in Ukraine's east will take place on 26 April, BelTA learned from the OSCE's special representative in the trilateral contact group on Ukraine Martin Sajdik on 12 April.

Martin Sajdik informed about the main topics discussed by the contact group and its subgroups on 12 April. The political discussion focused on aspects relating to the Steinmeier formula and future operation of the trilateral group on Ukraine in accordance with the latest instructions of the political advisors to the Normandy Four heads of state. The political advisors met in Minsk on 6 April.

Security matters still represent an important part of the discussion, including the full observance of the ceasefire regime and the implementation of the agreement on withdrawing heavy weapons and separating forces, on protecting critical infrastructure installations. Apart from that, participants of the meeting discussed search for missing persons with assistance of the International Committee of the Red Cross.
