Transition to manufacturing cooperation, investments in Belarus-China relations hailed

BEIJING, 28 September (BelTA) – Trade will be increasingly replaced by manufacturing cooperation and investments in the Belarusian-Chinese relations, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich on 28 September.

“Trade is going to take a back seat compared to industrial cooperation, access to financial resources, investments, business education, and joint exhibitions. We have a wide range of opportunities for cooperation. Today, investments include not only state-managed credit resources. There are funds and private investors who are ready to see Belarus as a very important and reliable partner,” Vladimir Ulakhovich noted.

He said that the BelCCI and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade have plans to sign a cooperation agreement during the state visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to China. Plans have also been made to sign a memorandum of understanding between the BelCCI and the China International Chamber of Commerce for the Private Sector. “The chamber unites large Chinese businesses that have been operating in industrialized countries, in Western Europe for quite a long time. Today these businesses show a great interest in Belarus,” Vladimir Ulakhovich pointed out.

He believes that Belarus and China have great potential for cooperation in exhibition projects.

The BelCCI is an active participant of the Silk Road Economic Belt project. “In early September, we became a member of the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce that already unites 40 countries interested in the project,” Vladimir Ulakhovich said. He added that Belarusian partners will get access to the funds of the Silk Road investment fund and its e-platform.
