MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – A working group has been set up in line with the relevant executive order of the prime minister of Belarus for the sake of improving the prediction of manpower requirements and setting admission figures for vocational training institutions and higher education ones, the press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA.

The working group will be led by Education Minister Igor Karpenko and Labor and Social Protection Minister Irina Kostevich.

By 1 December 2017 the working group will have to come up with proposals to improve the system used to forecast how many specialists and blue-collar workers need to be trained in Belarus in order to satisfy the needs of the national economy. It is also necessary to get all organizations and enterprises regardless of their ownership type to participate in the manpower training order system. Customers of the system will be responsible for consequently hiring the number of graduates they have ordered.

Apart from that, the working group will have to come up with proposals to expand the employer-sponsored education practice and reduce the number of people, who get extra-mural education at the state budget expense. The working group will also have to suggest ways to balance the number of students admitted for full-time training and part-time training in universities and vocational schools. The working group has also been instructed to suggest ways to improve the work of private higher education and vocational training institutions taking into account needs of the national economy.

If necessary, the working group will be able to consult with heads and specialists of central government agencies and other state-run organizations, which are accountable to the government.
