MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) – Plans have been made to launch the national system of electronic veterinary certification in Belarus by 1 January 2018, Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister, Director of the Department of Veterinary and Food Control Alexander Subbotin told reporters on 16 May, BelTA has learned.
“We are working hard to develop our national system. This is quite a long process. We have set the deadline at 1 January 2018,” Alexander Subbotin said.
He specified that if the national system is not launched by the end of the year, Belarus will be using the Russian system Mercury for some time. “We get from our Russian colleagues a clone of Mercury for two things. If we meet the deadline, we will further decide in what form and way our information will be transferred to the Russian electronic system. If we do not manage to finish the project by the deadline, we will be using this clone until our system is launched. But we will be working only with the goods going from Belarus to Russia,'' Alexander Subbotin noted.
