Minsk to host international startup contest SU&IT 2017 on 21 October

MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) – The international startup contest and business forum SU&IT 2017 will be held in Minsk on 21 October, Piotr Arushanyants, Director of the Entrepreneurship Department at the Belarusian Economy Ministry, told a press conference on 19 October, BelTA has learned.

“Su&IT 2017 is meant to provide support for startups. If everything goes well, we will arrange such events every year,” Piotr Arushanyants said.

The international startup contest is a non-profit project to be held for the first time. Guests from Russia, Ukraine, the USA, the UK, and Israel have been invited to take part in the event. The forum is expected to gather over 1,000 participants. “The main participants are representatives of IT companies with their startups, and also investors, both regular and venture ones. Su&IT 2017 will also see directors of infrastructure facilities: business incubators, science parks, the National Center for Technology Transfer, business schools, and various accelerators,” added Igor Sayevets, director of the small-business incubator Future With Us.

The forum participants will hear out reports by experts and founders of successful companies and watch presentations of startups. A venue for business contacts will be arranged at SU&IT 2017, too. The event will introduce startups in education, agribusiness, artificial intelligence in medicine, and blockhain.
