MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) – The international furniture fair Mebel 2017 will run in Minsk from 13 to 16 September, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom.
The companies affiliated with the concern intend to greatly expand their exhibition this year. The stands showcasing their furniture are expected to cover over 3,200m2, up 20% from 2016.
New models will be unveiled during the fair, namely new casegoods, seating furniture, and lines of decorations of chipboards used in the production of furniture. The visitors will see the whole range of furniture for living room, bedroom, kitchen, children's room, antechamber, bathroom, country house, and farmhouse. The fair is going to feature garden furniture and specials models, too.
During the event, the companies will hold presentations, give promos and discounts. The business program is expected to be eventful this year. The winners of the first national contest of industrial design projects in furniture industry will be announced. As many as 25 designer projects have been submitted. The award ceremony will be held on the second day of the fair. The winners of the Best Furniture Manufacturer 2017 and the Best Belarusian Furniture 2017 contest will also be named. Other events will include special seminars, conferences, and numerous business matchmaking sessions, including the ones with foreign partners: there will be more of them this year than there were in 2016.
The fair will be organized by the National Exhibition Center Belexpo and the Bellesbumprom concern in cooperation with the Belarusian Association of Enterprises of Furniture and Woodworking Industry.
