Lukashenko demands measures to boost export of services

MINSK, 21 April (BelTA) – We need measures to step up the export of services, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during his annual State of the Nation Address on 21 April, BelTA has learned.

“The potential we have in the export of services remains hugely untapped. We earned a lot on the export of services before. We need to win back the positions we had and work hard to make them stronger. Special attention should be attached to the most promising of them. These are engineering and tourist services,” the Belarusian leader said.

The president took note of Belarus' recent progress in the development of the tourism sector.

“We have also made headway in the export of construction services. We were able to strengthen our positions with the construction of the mining and processing factory in Turkmenistan. I am confident that our professional builders will be in a greater demand on the international market now,” the head of state said.
