MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – The Council of Ministers has approved two projects for receiving international technical aid, which will help improve nuclear regulation taking into account the launch of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, BelTA has learned.
One of the projects will provide support and assistance for enhancing capabilities of the Belarusian nuclear regulatory agency. The other one will improve competences of the regulatory body and the system of its technical support at the launch and in the course of operating the Belarusian nuclear power plant. The Emergencies Ministry will oversee and coordinate their implementation.
Apart from that, the Council of Ministers has approved another six international technical projects. They are designed to advance partnership for the sake of improving road infrastructure near the border in Poland's Podlaskie Voivodeship and Belarus' Grodno District, improve access to Biala Podlaska District and Brest District thanks to the construction and reconstruction of engineering and transport infrastructure on approach to the Belarusian-Polish border checkpoint Domachevo-Slawatycze. Two projects will help improve the management of water resources.
Other projects are designed to decrease social isolation and improve living standards of cancer patients in Vilnius Oblast and Grodno Oblast. Rehabilitation services for children with serious neurological conditions will be improved as well.
