Gomel company makes kitchen car for Kazakh Emergencies Ministry

GOMEL, 14 June (BelTA) – The Gomel railway car factory has made a kitchen car for cooking food in an emergency, representatives of the company told BelTA.

According to the source, the design of the railway kitchen car is unique. The railway car has been made for the Emergencies Ministry of Kazakhstan. The first railway car has already been sent to the customer.

The kitchen car can be used to cook hot food in an emergency. It can move on 1520mm gauge rails, which are used in the CIS states, at speeds up to 120kmph.

The kitchen car is subdivided into an airlock, an auxiliary room, a washing room, a machine room, a boiler room, a larder for perishable goods, cold and hot shops, and other work zones. The refrigerators can adjust air temperatures from 0C to 6C above zero and from 15C below zero to 20C below zero. The hot shop allows cooking hot meals, pastry, desserts, and so on.

The cold and hot shops are fitted with air conditioning. A diesel generator allows electric equipment in the kitchen car to operate without external power.

The Gomel railway car factory was established in 1874. At present the enterprise can repair over 150 types of railway cars in addition to making new railway cars as well as about 5,000 kinds of components for rolling stock, industrial goods, equipment, tools, and other things.
