Equal conditions for commercial entities in Belarus-Russia Union 'still a problem'

MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – Equal conditions for commercial entities in the Belarus-Russia Union State are still a problem, State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Grigory Rapota said after a meeting of the High-Level Group of the Union State Council of Ministers on 28 October, BelTA has learned.

“We have not yet managed to resolve the issue related to the provision of equal conditions for commercial entities (industrial, agricultural enterprises) in Belarus and Russia. This is a long-standing issue, and considerable advances have already been made. We further discussed the issue at today's meeting,” Grigory Rapota said.

The meeting achieved a certain progress. “Belarus and Russia have abolished a number of laws described by the other side as discriminatory. This is good, as the conditions have been improved,” Grigory Rapota noted.

The parties also made significant progress in expanding the list of categories of Belarusian citizens entitled to receive health care in Russia. “The Health Ministries and the Ministries of Labor have been considering the issue for quite a time. We have almost finished drafting a document that may be signed in the near future,” Grigory Rapota said.

Besides, progress has been achieved in mutual recognition of higher education certificates.
