MOSCOW, 18 May (BelTA) – The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ICIE) are set to implement investment projects in the Eurasian Economic Union. This is envisaged in the draft roadmap to implement a memorandum of cooperation between the EEC and the ICIE that was passed at the session of the ICIE Council in Thessaloniki (Greece), BelTA learnt from the press service of the EEU.
Taking part in the work of the ICIE Council was an EEC delegation led by Member of the Board (Minister) of Industry and Agroindustrial Complex Sergey Sidorsky.
The document sets out measures to invigorate integration processes in industry and agricultural industry of the EAEU, including by removing obstacles towards stronger ties between the EAEU member states, to implement an import substituting program, strengthen cooperation in the field of technology transfer and run a number of projects in the real economic sector of the EAEU member states, the press service noted. The roadmap contains a package of joint activities meant to raise investments to implement integration projects in industry and agro-industrial complex.
The document is to be submitted to the EEC Board.
The EEC minister held working meetings with heads of delegations of the ICIE participating states to discuss cooperation in specific integration projects in the EAEU real economic sector. “Top on the agenda was production of innovative vehicles with electric engines and a possibility of unmanned driving, cooperation of EAEU manufacturers and research centers in development and production of aircraft machinery, as well as technology upgrade of fishery infrastructure in the member states, the EEC added.
The International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs was established in 1992. It brings together national unions of industrialists and entrepreneurs from 27 countries of Europe and Asia. Its mission is to provide consultative, legal and scientific support, to develop and implement research projects, industrial and investment programs and to build up cooperation ties.
