MINSK, 30 November (BelTA) – The cost recovery rate for household services in Belarus will reach 60% by the end of 2016, Belarus' Vice Premier Anatoly Kalinin said at the joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly on 30 November.

The Vice Premier noted that thanks to the reduction of utility costs, the cost recovery rate will reach 60%. “The aim was 50%, but thanks to a number of programs, strict control mechanisms now we are close to the mark of 60%,” said Anatoly Kalinin.

Anatoly Kalinin also noted that an ad hoc working group was established on the instruction of the Belarusian President to upgrade the housing and utility system, make it more efficient. The emphasis is on reducing costs, ensuring transparency of billing, and improving the quality of public services.
