Cooperation in agriculture in focus of Belarusian delegation's visit to Russia's Sakhalin Island

MOSCOW, 10 April (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats is in Russia's Sakhalin Oblast on a visit on 9-12 April, the press service of the Embassy of Belarus in the Russian Federation told BelTA.

The delegation is expected to hold a number of meetings and negotiations with representatives of the Sakhalin Oblast government. There are plans to discuss finishing the construction of a dairy farm in the village of Razdolnoye, shipments of agricultural machines, food, pedigree cattle, and the training of Sakhalin Oblast agribusiness specialists in Belarusian agrarian education institutions.

On 10 April the Belarusian delegation visited the dairy farm in the village of Razdnolnoye. The farm is being built using Belarusian technologies. Progress in construction and installation work, startup and commissioning, installation and launch of the necessary equipment was discussed. Members of the delegation were made familiar with results of the work to build an agrotown of 50 one-storey homes using Belarusian designs. Nine of the homes are located in Belorusskaya Street. Workers of the agricultural enterprises have already moved in.

During the visit the sides are also expected to discuss the implementation of the action plan on advancing Belarus' cooperation with Russia's Sakhalin Oblast. A session of the relevant working group is supposed to take place.
