Call to streamline tax administration in Belarus

MINSK, 9 March (BelTA) – Tax administration should be streamlined in Belarus, Piotr Arushanyants, Director of the Entrepreneurship Department of Belarus' Economy Ministry, told journalists on 9 March, BelTA has learned.

“Tax issues will be reviewed. First of all, we need to streamline the tax administration,” Piotr Arushanyants noted. He stressed that the work of previous years should not be ignored either.

Piotr Arushanyants also commented on the proposals to abolish or reduce some taxes. “It cannot be said that if we abolish a half of the taxes, the situation will improve immediately. This issue needs a complex approach,” Piotr Arushanyants believes. He stressed that all suggestions made by businessmen will be considered and discussed in the ministry.

Director of the Belarusian Kuniavsky Business Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers Zhanna Tarasevich noted that the Belarusian businessmen understand how difficult it is to change the tax legislation. “We have broader views on fiscal policies. There should be a dialogue between Belarus' Tax and Duties Ministry and the Finance Ministry that develops the budget”, Zhanna Tarasevich explained.
