Broad choice of Belarusian agricultural machines for Russia's Penza Oblast

MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to offer a broad choice of agricultural machines to Penza Oblast. Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov made the statement as he met with Governor of Russia's Penza Oblast Ivan Belozertsev on 7 June, BelTA has learned.

In Q1 2017 Belarus' trade with Penza Oblast rose by 50%. “The fact indicates that we have a very good potential and should use it as best as possible. We see opportunities for realizing this potential primarily in trade cooperation. We are ready to offer to our Penza Oblast partners the entire range of mechanical engineering products, petrochemical products, light industry products, agriculture products, and food,” noted Andrei Kobyakov.

Taking into account Penza Oblast's plans to buy modern tractors, grain and forage harvesters, grain-drying complexes and the implementation of the large-scale program on developing agribusiness in the Russian region Belarus is ready to offer a broad choice of agricultural machines. The main vendors of agricultural machines can include MTZ, Gomselmash, Lidselmash, and Amkodor. “I think that your visit to the Belagro expo has helped appreciate today's level of our agricultural mechanical engineering industry. We expect we will be able to come up with mutually beneficial projects, in which we could participate,” said the Belarusian head of government. Belarus is also ready to sell a wide choice of passenger transport.

The advancement of manufacturing cooperation seems a promising avenue. Belarusian MAZ and Russian GRAZ have already established this kind of cooperation. “We believe that such cooperation could serve as a good example for other projects, too,” said Andrei Kobyakov.

There is a good potential for cooperation in agribusiness. Andrei Kobyakov mentioned the assimilation of cutting-edge technologies in manufacturing and processing of agricultural products, sales of modern milking parlors to Penza Oblast, the development of pedigree livestock farming, and the construction of dairy farms.

Belarus is also ready to cooperate in civil engineering by participating in the design and construction of social facilities, infrastructure, industrial facilities, and by selling more construction materials. There are plans to build a potato starch factory in Penza Oblast. Belarus is experienced in creating such enterprises and is ready to share the experience with Russian partners.

Apart from that, Belarus and Penza Oblast have good opportunities for cooperation in healthcare, education, tourism, and other spheres. As a rule, this versatile cooperation with Russian regions is guided by individual roadmaps and action plans, which stipulate parties responsible and deadlines, added Andrei Kobyakov.

In turn, the Penza Oblast governor expressed gratitude for the opportunity to visit multiple places and hold constructive negotiations during his stay in Belarus.
