Bellegprom exports up 28% to Asia, up 66% to China

MINSK, 29 March (BelTA) – Enterprises affiliated with the Belarusian light industry concern Bellegprom supplied products to 76 regions of Russia in 2023, with exports there increasing by 7.1%. Shipments to the Asian countries went up 28%, to China - up 66%, Bellegprom Chairwoman Tatiana Lugina said in an interview with the Economy of Belarus Magazine.

“Our main markets are the EAEU countries, and Russia remains the key strategic partner. We sell leather goods and cotonized flax to China. In late 2023 Orsha Linen Mill registered on Alibaba platform with linen home textiles. Supplies also grew to the EU countries, including the Netherlands, Hungary, Cyprus, Greece, and Slovakia. Shipments to Slovenia were launched. Despite the sanctions and other negative aspects, the light industry ensured profitable work. The demand for Belarusian products in foreign markets remains high. Our linen fabrics and flax fiber, hosiery and corsetry are among most popular products,” Tatiana Lugina said.

Last year supplies were launched to Nepal and Vietnam. The Bellegprom enterprises keep building up their presence through industrial cooperation in the CIS markets - Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Tajikistan.
